FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

How is HelpTrust different from other crowdfunding platforms?

Every campaign is checked before it goes live. We verify identity, address, bank account and bills, and a person reviews the file. Donors only see campaigns that have passed.

Who can start a campaign?

Adults with a verified mobile number who are asking for help with a genuine financial need, such as debt, medical costs or education fees. The campaign must be in the requester's own name.

What documents do I need?

A government ID, proof of address, and at least one bill or loan statement that matches the amount you are requesting. Photos and a short video are optional.

Is my Aadhaar number shared publicly?

No. Your identity is checked through an authorised partner with your consent. Your ID number and documents are never shown on your campaign. Donors see your first name and last initial.

How do I donate?

Choose a campaign, pick an amount (minimum ₹50), and pay with UPI, card, net banking or RuPay through our payment provider. Your donation is confirmed once the provider confirms it to us, and you receive a receipt.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, you can request a full refund within 7 days of a successful payment. Our finance team reviews each request. See the Refund Policy for details.

Do donations qualify for a tax deduction?

HelpTrust does not claim or provide any tax deduction for donors. Your receipt confirms the payment only. Speak to your tax adviser about your own position.

What happens to the money?

Funds are paid to the verified bank account in the beneficiary's name, after the campaign is approved. Each campaign shows what has been raised and how many people have supported it.

What if I suspect a campaign is not genuine?

Use the Report button on any campaign. Our fraud team reviews each report. Please do not share your password or bank details with anyone, including people claiming to be from HelpTrust.
